Deepworld Launches A Kickstarter Project To Fund A Mac Beta

When I first met the team making Deepworld, which is a 2D Sandbox-style game of building similar to Minecraft, at GDC in March, I advised them that Deepworld would be more than they had imagined. While they have a wealth of experience in the development of servers and software operating a huge game like Deepworld requires a significant investment. They seem to have reached an agreement. Kickstarter was established to raise money early for development and servers. The group is offering a variety of prizes to those who support it, including your own personal servers and worlds, art books, and other items, and the possibility of getting your own items, a name or even images included in the game itself. The goal is US$20,000 and the group has already raised approximately $4,000. MINECRAFT PROFILES plan to make the project a full-time occupation and this money will enable them to do that. I'm sure I'd like them to be successful. Deepworld looks great and I was with you when I first saw it. I think the Mac (and iOS) would be greatly benefited by an app like that.
